Kelly D'Souza Meyers, Director of Choirs
Kelly D’Souza Meyers is in her tenth year as a choral music educator, and her first year as the Director of Choirs at Plano Senior High School! This will be her fourth year at Plano Senior, after serving as the Associate Director of Choirs for the past three years, wherein, she co-directs all levels of choir and music directs the annual musical. Prior to her appointment at Plano Senior, she served as the Associate Director of Choirs at Lovejoy High School and Head Choir Director at Willow Springs Middle School. While at Lovejoy, she co-directed all levels of high school choir, led the 7th and 8th grade program, and assisted with the annual high school musical. Choirs under her direction have earned consistent sweepstakes awards at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Competition, and many of her students earn placement through audition in the Texas All-State Choir. She has presented professional development sessions to teachers on cooperative learning, mental health, and SEL, and she is an active member of TMEA, TCDA, and TMAA.
Mrs. Meyers holds both a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of North Texas. She grew up in Mumbai, India, and moved to Plano, Texas in 2006, where she discovered her love of choral music. Mrs. Meyers is a proud alumna of Plano ISD and is thrilled to teach in the district that inspired her to be a music educator. She is passionate about continuing the Plano Choir tradition of excellence by fostering a vibrant student-centered environment to create meaningful music together. Through collaboration, creativity, and dedication, she believes in building strong partnerships with our community to inspire, uplift, and carry forward a shared legacy of musical achievement.
Sam Taylor, Associate Choir Director
Sam Taylor is thrilled to serve as the Associate Director of Choirs at Plano Senior High School! Mr. Taylor is beginning his first full year as a music educator, bringing energy, passion, and a strong educational foundation to the classroom. Prior to joining the team at Plano, he served as a long-term substitute in the Assistant Choir Director role at Chisholm Trail High School in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. During his time there, he played a key role in preparing students for UIL Solo & Ensemble and contributed to the planning and execution of the choir’s final pop show.
An active member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and an alumnus of Mu Phi Epsilon, a professional music fraternity, Mr. Taylor remains deeply involved in the broader music education community. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Christian University.
As a proud alumnus of Plano Senior High, Mr. Taylor is honored to return to the very program that first ignited his passion for teaching. He believes that choir should be a safe and inspiring space where students can grow not just musically, but personally. He is committed to cultivating a community in which students support one another, explore their individuality, and connect through shared experiences. Through music, Mr. Taylor aims to teach compassion, vulnerability, and an appreciation for true beauty—developing not only skilled musicians, but thoughtful and empathetic individuals.
Jim Wilson, Collaborative Pianist
Jim is excited to begin his ninth year as the pianist for the Plano Sr High choral program! He serves as the pianist at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, for the Greater Dallas Choral Society, and the choral programs at Plano Sr HS, Wylie East HS and several other middle and high schools. Jim has accompanied the Texas All State choirs six times and is the only pianist to have accompanied all four Texas All State Choirs in consecutive years. He plays keyboards for the band Boomtown, performs with several jazz combos, and works nationally as a pianist with vocalists and instrumentalists.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Arizona. He and his wife Amy are proud parents of two daughters and reside in Plano, Texas. When not performing, Jim can often be found in Latin America, his happy spot, as well as assisting and advocating for immigrants back home in the U.S.
